Refugee Education Japan is an initiative of the Japan ICU Foundation (JICUF). 
We aim to broaden educational opportunities for students with refugee backgrounds in Japan to help them build stable lives and fulfill their potential.

Since 2017, we have helped refugee students attend universities and language schools in Japan and advocated for the expansion of education pathways in close partnership with the NPO Pathways Japan (PJ).

JICUF and PJ made a joint pledge at the second Global Refugee Forum in December 2023 to continue to pave the way for more refugee students to relocate to Japan through education. Read more about our pledge and learn about our work here.
